Prayer Of Thanks

Upon first reading this comprehensive prayer of thanks submitted by my friend, Lorna, I thought of this passage, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6.

I'm going to read this prayer on those mornings when I wake up on the wrong side of the bed. This prayer of thanks will raise your hands skyward and make your soul sing praises to our Savior and Lord.

Drop to your knees with me while we offer this beautiful prayer of thanks to our Father.

A Prayer Of Thanks

Dear Father,
All-knowing and most powerful,
I would like to thank you for leading me to the TRUTH:
that you are a living God,
that you are my Abba Father,
that you love me with an everlasting love,
that Jesus Christ is my Messiah,
that the Holy Spirit is with me all the time to guide me,
that you always send an angel to help me in time of needs,
that you have made me your friend,
that you already pre-ordained each day of my life,
that you know me by name,
that you delight in me,
that you care about my happiness,
that you have good plans for me,
that you will also save my family,
that you are my rock, my portion, my healer and my refuge.

That I can find rest in you even if I'm in the middle of a life's storm,
that I can trust you and your promises,
that you always come through, that you never fail,
that you cannot lie, that you keep your promises generation after generation,
that you are faithful to me even if I'm sometimes not,
that you never get tired of me, that you are patient with me,
that you always forgive me, that you are gentle with me,
that what matters to me matters to you,
that you gifted me, that you will success in my endeavors,
that you created me in your image, that you made me beautiful and wonderful,
that you never want me to be fearful, worried, anxious, fretful, sad, angry or discontented,
that you make a way for me where there is no way,
that everything works for my good because I love you,
that you protect me, that you fight my battles, that you vindicate me,
that you will finish what you have started in me,
that you empower me, that you have made me more than a conqueror,
that you strengthen me through Christ, that you reward me,
that you favor me, that nothing is impossible with me because I believe,
that you will give me the desires of my heart because I delight in you,
that you humble me, that you will give me a flourishing finish, and finally,
that Jesus, my wonderful counselor, will come back again to take me home with you and live in your presence forever.

Thank you Father that you've got my back and you've got it all covered. I may not understand it all. I may not see the big picture. But I trust your HEART Father. No one compares to you. You are great! I will forever thank you. Receive my praise, in Jesus name. Amen. - Lorna
